Do you hate when you can't get that garlic smell out of your favourite cutting boards? Well here is the answer to that problem... I make small decorative end-grain boards for just that purpose! You can smash (or chop) your garlic on this little board, clean it off and then just toss it in the drawer with your other utensils for the next time. You'll only have the one little board with the smell of garlic and the rest of your boards are saved :-)
Each piece of ash is hand selected for it's unique characteristics, grain patterns, and coloration but I never really know exactly what I'm getting until I cut into the wood - it's always such a lovely surprise. I've 'matchbooked' the grain patterns on these boards to give a continuous flow to the look of the board. I've also bevelled the corners on one board to make a little easier to pick up while still allowing for good stability while in use. The other I left as straight corners.
